AVP New York City & Long Island is an area council of AVP USA. AVP has been working for 40 years. Presently, AVP is now in over 50 countries and 30 states within the USA.
AVP is a training program that enables participants to deal with a potentially violent situation in new and creative ways. Workshops are run by our trained facilitators. Our workshops are experiential and not based on lectures or advice.
AVP History
AVP began in 1975 in a NY prison. The inmates asked local Quakers to help them devise a program to support prisoners to help them devise a program to resolve conflicts nonviolently.
